Culinary
Institute of America Expands
Its Vintners Hall of Fame Induction Dinner
With Spectacular Celebration California Wine and Food
St.
Helena, CA – The Culinary Institute of America
(CIA) will honor the 2009 Vintners Hall of Fame inductees on
March 14th, 2009 with a daylong Celebration of California Wine
and Food, culminating in the Vintners Hall of Fame Induction
Dinner and Celebrity Chef Walk-Around Reception. The day’s
activities include rare opportunities to learn, sip and savor
with many of California’s most celebrated wine and food
personalities.
A
Celebration of California Wine and Food begins with a choice
between two morning Wine and Food Salons held at the CIA at
Greystone in St. Helena, CA. One salon features wine expert
and Chair of the CIA’s Rudd Center for Professional Wine
Studies, Karen MacNeil, and CIA Chef Bill Briwa on The Art of
Food and Wine Pairing. The other morning salon includes a remarkable
lineup of renowned wine writers and critics for a session on
Tasting With the Pros. Guests will then have a unique chance
to choose from among some of Napa Valley’s most treasured
wineries for an exclusive tour, tasting and wine country luncheon.
These legendary estates include Beringer Vineyards, BOND, Cardinale,
Hundred Acre, Quixote Winery, Rudd Oakville Estate, Schramsberg
and Viader Vineyards.
Guests
return to the CIA in the early evening to meet guest chefs Michael
Chiarello, Todd Humphries, Christopher Kostow and Charlie Palmer
at the Celebrity Chef Walk-Around Reception in the CIA Greystone’s
Teaching Kitchens. The culmination of the day’s
events is the Vintners Hall of Fame Induction Dinner where guests
will sit among iconic figures in the wine and food industries
for an unforgettable candlelit dinner in the CIA’s famed
Barrel Room, which now houses the Vintners Hall of Fame.
